This week's quote is on reading and eating (two of my favorite activities!):
Quote taken from the book Fictitious Dishes. Guess that explains why I love both so well. (I don't guess eating can be considered a hobby. And I've gotten in trouble before as a kid reading and eating at the same time. But now that I'm an adult, that's not really a problem...)
What I'm Reading Now:
Additions since last week:
Surprised by Oxford by Carolyn Weber.
Mystery Mile by Margery Allingham.
The Awakening of Miss Prim by Natalia Sanmartin Fenollera.
The Homeschooling Handbook by Lorilee Lippincott.
Current Kindle Reads:
Still working on Lit! A Christian Guide to Reading Books although my digital loan ends soon and I'm not sure if I'm going to finish it or not.
I haven't really seen any great Kindle deals that I just had to have this past week.
Current Read Aloud:
Lots of picture books in preparation for the upcoming series: From Aesop to Zion - coming in October.
Current Book to Review:
I just finished reviewing Lost in Translation and I'm supposed to review 52 Little Lessons from Les Miserables but it hasn't come in yet.
I like both eating and reading; although recently I've been a more discriminating eater than reader ;)
That being said, I do know I'm reading less-than-quality literature right now and recognize good literature in general and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Carolyn Weber's books. Surprised by Oxford was my favorite book of 2012, I couldn't keep my nose out of it and read it in like 3 days. Her next book, Holy is the Day was my favorite of 2013. I was hoping she'd keep the trend alive in 2014, but no news yet ... Enjoy!
I just finished Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. It is pure chic lit, and I am only a little ashamed to say that I couldn't out it down. She has mastered the catty woman, and I loved it. For my brain, I am reading Luther's commentary on Galations. Slowly. Very slowly. It should read in small bites. I have Sarah Water's new one, The Paying Guests, to read next.
Ack! My apostrophe is in the wrong spot! Sarah Waters' new book. I blame the iPad.
